The Movers & Shakers: All Aboard!!! - June 2011

by Cathy Combs

My absolute highest holiest dream is that everyone in the world knows they are the movers and shakers of the world. When each person knows that we will have reached the epitome of our potential. We will be living in a much different world than we are living in now! We will have brought the fullness of Peace and Joy into each moment. Can there be a greater dream? Can there be a greater reality? I don't think so.

"Every dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world." This fabulous statement of Truth was given to us by Harriet Tubman. What a fabulously inspiring woman she is. I say is because her work is very much alive in me. She brought people into freedom from the slavery of racism. I am bringing people into the freedom from "less than" consciousness.

It means absolutely everything to me that people fully understand that their heritage is Joy Incarnate.

Here's how the Consciousness of Joy Incarnate is making Itself known in our world right now. The new sciences are showing us so clearly that the world is an indivisible whole.

Here's what Lynne McTaggart, an award winning journalist who is a keynote speaker at this month's Unity People's Convention, has to say about this holistic view of our world: "The connection between everything and everyone is so close the space between is almost imperceptible.... The bond is so integral there is no longer a clear demarcation between where one thing, one person begins or ends..... Competition is outmoded... Prosperity and Life are based on relationship...... See the relationship between.... Not just the individual.... Rather than the need to compete and dominate the essential impulse of all Life is the will to connect."

I had the fabulous opportunity to hear Lynne McTaggart speak at Unity Village in 2007. She shared a story I will never forget. She was showing us slides of a man out in the Arctic wild with his sled dog. The sled dog was tied to the sled. Out of nowhere here comes a polar bear. The man stood frozen in horror thinking his sled dog was about to be the polar bear's lunch. What happened instead was the polar bear and sled dog stood up to each other and hugged each other and were rolling around in the snow playing. The polar bear came back every day for a week to play with the sled dog. I bawled my eyes out watching that short movie. It's a true story.

It's always so hilarious the synchronicity of what happens when I'm writing. My phone rang just now. It was Rev. Mary Morrissey's One Minute message. She's been in Concord, Massachusetts where the Concord Conversations between Emerson, Thoreau, Hawthorne and many others took place. Emerson and Thoreau are two of the people I admire most in the whole wide world. Imagine the comedy of the reality that your gardener is one of the greatest minds the world has ever known. Thoreau was Emerson's gardener. Thoreau was in the hallway when many of these conversations were taking place. He kept interjecting such insightful comments into the conversation that he was invited into the room to fully participate in the conversations. Talk about the movers and shakers in the world. Thoreau and Emerson are two I admire most.

Here's a quote that epitomizes the inside out Life I so greatly love: "Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. If you love what you're doing, you'll be successful." Albert Schweitzer gave us that inspiring Truth.

I certainly know the Truth of that statement from the inside out. I just found another place where I met a whole bunch of amazing people in a beautiful setting. I attended a workshop at The Zen Zone in Lee's Summit, www.zenzoneyoga.com. I went there because a new friend, Toby Evans, was doing a workshop there. Toby owns The Sagebrush Exchange, www.sagebrushexchange.com, a beautiful expanse of land with two labyrinths and a meeting room filled wall to wall with her beautiful artwork. The workshop I attended was another one of those synchronistic moments and blessings where I didn't know the totality of what we were doing until I got there and then what I experienced was so beyond what I imagined. It's an inside out lesson of: Do what I love to do, follow the Guidance I receive, and know that amazing blessings abound!!!

Here's another quote I absolutely love: "God has no religion." Mahatma Gandhi spoke this Truth that so epitomizes the difference between spirituality and religion. The Truth is universal, encompassing and embodying everything and everyone. That is the great Power of the indigenous and holistic cultures, philosophies and spiritualities. They are all so Life affirming because they are all intrinsically based on and in connection.

Love everything and everyone. That's the message of the ages. That's the message of all the movers and shakers of all the ages: past, present, and to come.

I love this message that is one of the ten Principles of a socially engaged Buddhism as shared by Dr. Donald Rothberg and his work with Diana Winston: "By taking care of myself, I take care of the world."

This is another extraordinarily important example of the inside out world that is so misunderstood by our stoic Western religion and psychology.

We absolutely must embody the Truth that unless we take care of ourselves first we have nothing to give. We must cultivate our Awareness that Joy is an inside out process. Our very Nature is Joy. As we live from that Truth we will light the world as never before with a radiant, warm, inspiring, uplifting, transformative glow of Truth that makes our connection abundantly clear. Source is Unlimited. So are we. We are Source Incarnate. That is the Unitive Principle that is the very Essence of Life. As we align our hearts and minds with this unfailing Truth we will live our heritage as the movers and shakers we truly are. Are you ready? I certainly am!!! Do what you love to do. That is your greatest Gift to the world. It lets the world know you know who you are!!! You are amazing! That is the irrepressible Spirit of Magnanimity that I so love. I am that, I AM!!! So are you!!!
